Time To Break Out the Time-Travel Bubble...
Last night a bunch of us went to see Al Gore's documentary on global warming called "The Inconvenient Truth." Wow. How powerful! I went into the movie already knowing the mechanics of global warming and its effects on the earth, but I didn't realize just how intelligent and wise Mr. Gore is. He's been following this issue from his days as an undergrad and has been trying to bring people's attention to it ever since. Anyways, he made a movie based on the slide tour he's given over 1000 times across the world.
Here are some thoughts that this movie provoked from me:
1. It pisses me off that global warming is still being debated. We've known about this long ago, this is our planet, and something should have been done sooner.
2. Which makes me wonder where would be now, as a country and planet, if Al would have actually become president in 2000?
To which I found on Wikipedia:
When asked at an economic forum in Stockholm, Sweden, in October 2005, how the United States would have been different if he had become president, Mr. Gore stated, "We would not have invaded a country that didn't attack us. We would not have taken money from the working families and given it to the most wealthy families. We would not be trying to control and intimidate the news media. We would not be routinely torturing people."* And I'm sure all the environmental headway made by the Clinton administration would not have been completey wiped out and destroyed. Bleh, Bush! (insert time-travel ability here and make things right!)

3. Which then makes me wonder why Americans are sooooo dumb! Why would we elect to office(or allow him to have it after he stole it, and then four years later reelect him in again) the king of the monkeys, a man who has been stated on record as being a person who doesn't read newspapers, or gather his own information, a man who doesn't do his own thinking???? Yikes! I worry about our future when a man of learning is passsed over for some mental midget!!!! ARGH!
----Sorry, Bull-Roar readers, but I get so upset when I think of all the important things in life that get dusted over because of such things like greed, laziness, and ignorance. Urg!!!
