Autumn Leaves

I headed out of Madison today to hang out with my dad to give him his birthday present, and then to my mom's to rake her stupid lawn!

The stupid rake snapped in half, like fives strokes into the job. My mom was pissed at me for breaking the rake. I "pushed it too hard!" Bull-roar, I did! It was a cheap piece-o'crap from Wal-Mart. She didn't even care that when the handle snapped it whacked me in the neck- I could have been stabbed in the juggler and she would have stood over my slumped over body and yelled at me for getting blood all over her lawn! I had to use the half-rake on the entire lawn. My mom complained that I wasn't getting all the leaves. Whatever!

Raking gets you all sweaty and I had to take off my jacket! I can't help but get irritated with the bad patch job around the next-door neighbor's kitchen window. Tragic. (PS: this was the house that Kathy Schuster came to visit in 1985)

My mom got less bitchy afterward and we watched "Airplane" on cable- until she remembered she had the latest Price is Right on tape in her teevee/vee-cee-arr in the kitchen.

PS: I'm sporting my autumn beard!

Whenever I get upset thinking about my mom, I think of yours and I feel a little better about my own situation!
